Meet our Honorees
Grace Carnal has been selected as the Youth Honoree for the 2018 Taste of Brunch. Grace is currently a freshman at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale where she enjoys dancing on the JV pom team and spending time with friends. When Grace was 8 years old she began experiencing her first symptoms while running on her elementary school playground. Back then, the pain was in just one joint. Seven years and five joints later, Grace has become a true example of a RA Warrior. She continues to live her life with unbridled energy and passion as normally as she can, thanks to monthly infusions, daily medications and the amazing oversight of her medical team. Her biggest dream is that someday there will be a cure and she will no longer need to take her medications. #letsfindacure
With over 20-years of construction experience, Danielle Bryant, founded THRIVE Construction in 2013 with the intent to provide clients with a dynamic partner who will work personally with you to achieve results. We offer an alternative solution for clients who like the expertise and experience of a large design build general contractor but desire the personal service and attention of a small one. We proudly serve the commercial tenant improvement and residential remodel markets. THRIVE is about making a difference in the construction community by enhancing what has been built previously, encouraging adaptive reuse, as well exceeding our “male” counterparts. We aren’t your big box construction firm who believes in getting as many projects as possible. We intentionally restrict our workload to consist of no more than two concurrent projects at any given time to allow us to provide our clients with top notch service and our focused attention. Our mission is to deliver purposeful building solutions that THRIVE upon integrity through a uniquely energetic, passionate, committed and collaborative process.
Construction is my first love and allows me to DO and BE more in this life! Another main reason for starting my own firm was to be able to give back to the community in a purposeful way. Life is about turning our own experiences into powerful lessons that we can share with those who need it. I truly feel like I have lived two lives: One prior to my diagnosis and the one after. In one life, I was a star athlete with scholarships that were like a multitude of yellow brick roads, each one leading to a bright and successful future. In my next life, the roads were not golden and shiny like the ones in my past, but tumultuous and tangled. At the end of each twisted path, I found not sure success, but a life of medical interventions, procedures and daily pain. It was at the beginning of my second life, the spring of 1991, that Rheumatoid Arthritis introduced itself to me, rearing its ugly head, embedding itself into my body, my joints and my life. I picture it like the deep roots of an old tree, just when I thought the path was clear, I seem to trip over a hidden root, blocking my path to a pain-free and disease-free life. I have learned how to process and push myself to not allow this disease to define me. My construction company and my foundation are key components to my mental toughness and desire to keep moving forward. Proceeds from each THRIVE Construction project go towards the MAKE IT COUNT 4 DANI FOUNDATION (501c3) which promotes MOVEMENT all over the world for those living with Rheumatoid Arthritis. We also have a scholarship fund who have been diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA)/rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
